SOLD#2624 German Cellist FiguralSOLD
The crown and N mark (originally used by Capo di Monte of Naples, Italy) has been widely copied by many factories.  Because this piece has Germany stamped on it, as well as it being in the style of Item #1665 below, this beautiful figure appears to be from the Ernest Bohne Sons Porcelain Factory of Rudolstadt Volkstedt Thuringia Germany.  c.1901-1920.  HAND PAINTED.  A magnificent piece with its vivid colors and detailed design.  Excellent to perfect condition -- can't find anything wrong at all.  Approximately 5" tall x 8" wide x 5" front to back at outside edge of gown in back.

From the Ernest Bohne Sons Porcelain Factory of Rudolstadt Volkstedt Thuringia Germany.  This mark is c.1901-1920 (Source:  Dresden Porcelain Studios by Harran, page 196).  10 1/2" to 11" tall to 10" wide x 6" deep.  Perfect condition.  A gorgeous piece.

New York & Rudolstadt Pottery, in business c.1882-1918.  This mark was registered in the German Trademark of Registry on May 2, 1896.  (Source:  Directory of European Porcelain by Danckert, pages 397 and 668; and Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain by Rontgen, page 134).  Approximately 7 1/2" tall x 6 1/4" wide.  Hand painted figural scene.  Heavy gold floral and foliate trim on cobalt blue body.  Gold handles and gold feet.  Perfect condition.
