#2491 OS St. Kilian Germany Bowl

The OS St. Kilian green mark is dated to c.1904 and is from the Oscar Schlegelmilch factory in Langewiesen, Thuringia, Germany.  Gorgeous transfer roses and grape clusters in the center as well as in the cartouches on the inside walls.  Notice the  beautiful dark turquoise serving as a background.  The rim of the bowl is in a pie crust crimped design with gold trim.  It may have had more gold on the rim when it was new.  The colors are bright and beautiful.  The turquoise and gold appear to have been hand-applied, while the florals and grapes are in transfer.  Wonderful condition and a treasure of a find.  An excellent addition to any collection.  9 1/2" diameter x 2 3/4" tall.

#2367(a) R. S. Steeple Old Dessert Set from Reinhold Schlegelmilch in Suhl and Tillowitz in Germany

Large Cake Plate and 4 small plates.  Unmarked, but is no doubt from one of the Reinhold Schlegelmilch factories in Suhl and Tillowitz, Germany.  The Fourth Series of the Gaston book on R. S. Prussia on page 47 shows a plate with this exact design with the heavy gold and pink roses.  It is called the R. S. Steeple Mold 10 and the sample in the Gaston book is also unmarked.  The Gaston book explains that R. S. Steeple falls into the years of c.1895-1914, 1914 being the beginning of WW I.   The plate in the Gaston book is 10 3/4" diameter and is listed as being $225-275 for the one plate alone.  This is an "Old World" treasure of a find.  The large cake plate is also nearly perfect except for slight wear of gold.  It had a small nick which has been professionally repaired.  The four small plates had numerous chips on the backsides and some on the front and they have all been professionally repaired.  They also have miniscule wear of the gold.  (1 large cake plate and 4 small plates)
