#2381 Rosenthale/Pickard Oval Vegetable Bowl

Based on the Pickard decorating mark, the age of this bowl is 1925-30.  The Rosenthale whiteware mark was used c.1908-1953 (Source:  Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain by Rontgen, page 137)  It was apparently manufactured by Rosenthal (notice the spelling of Rosinthale, which apparently the spelling used on Rosenthal whiteware) and decorated by Pickard.  The gold Pickard mark was used 1925-30 according to references.  Notice the intricate design of the beautiful Pickard decoration. 10 1/2" long x 7 3/8" wide.  Excellent condition.  $95, March 2006

#2353 Hand Painted Rosenthale Teacups

Hand Painted on Rosenthal blanks and artist signed -- probably an American China Painter.  The green underglaze mark is a  whiteware mark dated c.1908-1953.  (Source:  Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain by Rontgen, page 137).  The mark also includes the word Donatello which may be the style name of the blank.  Cup is 1 1/2" tall x 2 3/8" across top opening.  Saucer is 4 1/4" diameter.  Perfect condition.

#2307 Rosenthale Footed Teacup

The U. S. Zone mark dates this cup to the 1945-49 era when the U. S. occupied Germany just after WW II.  The mark also says Pompadour, which is either the pattern name or the style of the blankNotice the beautiful rosebuds on both pieces, including inside the cup.  Scalloped saucer is 4 3/4" diameter.  Footed cup is 2" tall x 3" diameter across top opening.  Perfect condition.

#1895 Rosenthale Pompadour Titian

  c. 1930's.  48 pieces.  Ivory may be the name of the line.  Pompadour Titian may be the style and the pattern.  This elaborate cartouche mark was used 1925-1941 by the Rosenthal China Corporation in New York City.  (Source:  Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain by Rontgen, page 120)
