SOLD#2191 Paragon Footed Cup and SaucerSOLD

 c.1950's or later.  Saucer is perfect, but cup is not perfect.  Cup has very fine crazing which is not visible to the normal eye.  I only discovered it when I was looking at the rose under a magnifying glass.  It is priced accordingly.  A beautiful cup for display.  Cup is 2 1/8" tall x 4" across top. Saucer is 5 3/8" diameter.

The mark dates it to the 1939-49 era.  Hand Painted roses and heavy gold trim and one of the prettiest tea cups to come along.  Scalloped saucer is 4 1/4" diameter.  Footed cup is 2 3/4" tall x 2 7/8" diameter across top opening which is also scalloped in design.  Almost perfect, but not quite.  The handle has a break in it (see picture).  It is not all the way through, but it is there -- it is priced accordingly.  It is also still a real beauty and a great collector's cup!!  $55 April 2006

The mark dates it to the 1939-49 era.  Unusual scalloped body and square saucer with scalloped corners.  Large and beautiful transfer roses on an ivory background.  Cup is 2 5/8" tall x 3 1/4" across top opening.  Saucer is 5" across from side-to-side and 5 1/2" from corner-to-corner.  Perfect condition.$55 February 2006

Hand Painted.  Perfect Condition.  Edges of cup and saucer are scalloped and gold trimmed.  Inside rims are decorated with heavy gold flourishes with the initials E & R and a Crown with red beads.  Saucer is 5 5/8" diameter.  Footed cup is 2 1/4" tall x 4" diameter across top opening.  A treasure of a find!!

SOLD#2277 Old Paragon Cup and SaucerSOLD

Rims of both cup and saucer are scalloped and trimmed in gold.  References say the top portion of this mark was used 1932-39.  Therefore, the reference to Queen Elizabeth is apparently referring to the current Queen's mother, also named Elizabeth and who was on the throne with her husband, King George VI, who reigned from 1937-1952.  That narrows the date of this particular mark to 1937-1939.  Saucer is 5" diameter.  Footed cup is 2 1/3" tall x 3 1/2" across top opening.  Notice the pretty roses inside the cup rim.  Middle of saucer is also decorated with a small cluster of roses.  Excellent condition.
