#2571 Little Hostess Tea Set, 1920's

Made by Nagoya in Japan.  Hand Painted.  Original box.  Notice the 1920's hair style of the little girl in the picture on the box.  We personally know the original owner who played with this tea set as a child in the mid to late 1920's.  It was lovingly used and then preserved all these years in its original box.  Along with the tea set are two little Princess place mats (8" x 5 1/2") with the Campbell Soup Kids which our friend used with the little tea set, so we are keeping it all together just as she did.  The tea set consists of the little tea pot, 3 3/4" tall to top of lid x approximately 6" wide at outer tips of spout and handle; sugar bowl, 3" tall to top of lid x approximately 4" wide at handles; creamer, 2 3/4" tall at spout x 3 1/2" wide between spout and handle; 4 cups, 1 1/2" tall; 4 snack plates, 6 1/8" x 5".  All pieces are in excellent to perfect condition and the colors are still bright and beautiful.  Condition:  The only flaws we can find are 3 very minor places on the front of the tea pot (see two circles in picture below, plus look at the tip of the green leaf on the lower right of the large rose on the front of the tea pot).  These are not major.  The wonderful box has been carefully preserved with tape around the edges (see pictures).  Notice that even the colors on the box are still bright.  The place mats are absolutely perfect.
