#2499 Footed Teacup and Saucer |

    | This mark
has been previously unknown to us, but we recently received a picture of the
same mark found on another teacup, but with an added Austria.
Very pretty cup with its heavy gilding and pretty colors of wine, blue, and
ivory.  Appears to be totally hand painted and hand decorated.  A
very beautiful cup and saucer.  Footed cup is 2 3/4" tall x 2 5/8"
diameter across top opening.  Saucer is 3 7/8" diameter.  Perfect
	condition. |

#2566 Vienna Austria Figural Bowl |

    | Gorgeous colors and shape.  Cherub and Maidens mythical figural scene
in transfer which gives the illusion of being hand-painted.  The heavy
gold trim on cranberry and ivory, the rose-filled cartouches, and the
unusual body shape of the footed bowl, all contribute to the overall
striking beauty of this old bowl.  The two marks identify it as being
from Austria, although at this writing, we've not yet identified both of
them in detail.  However, one mark is possibly that of P. H.
Leonard, a New York importer of porcelain, who used a very similar
mark c.1890-1908 and in business c.1890-1910.
Anyone who can add information, please e-mail us.  It is in excellent
to perfect condition -- only some very minimal wear of gold here and there
on the top rim -- only contributes to its validity as an OLD BOWL.  8
1/4" across top from side to side and 9 1/2" across top from corner to
	corner. |

    | #2620 Austrian Style Plate, ES Germany
    Prov SXE |

    | Another very beautiful decorative plate with a popular
Angelica Kauffmann mythological figural scene in transfer.  The mark is
	the Prov SXE Beehive mark
used by Erdmann Schlegelmilch of Suhl,
Thuringia, Germany and one dated to c.1900-1920's
    (Source:  Collector's
Encyclopedia of R. S. Prussia, Mary Frank Gaston, pages 203,
204, 215-216).  This is a green overglaze mark.  There
is a plate very similar to this one on page 218 of Gaston's book. Notice the rich deep colors of
cranberry, green, and gold.  The intricate gold beading and gold
triangular designs around the inner rim set off this eye-catching plate.
Excellent to perfect condition -- can't find anything wrong with it.  9
    1/4" diameter. $125 January

    | #2611 Austrian Style Plate |

    | A beautiful decorative plate with a popular
Angelica Kauffmann figural scene in transfer.  Although Austrian in
style and so similar to the bowl below, the beehive mark with the dot
appears to be that of Erdmann
Schlegelmilch of Suhl, Thuringia, Germany and one dated to
    c.1900's to 1920's (Source:
    Collector's Encyclopedia of R. S. Prussia,
Mary Frank Gaston, page 204).  This is a blue overglaze
mark.  Although the beehive mark has been used by many, I am inclined
to believe this is a genuine ES Germany mark.  On page 218 of Gaston's
book, there is a plate very similar to this one.
Gorgeous cranberry, gold, and ivory. Ready for hanging on your wall with an
already-attached wall hangar in place.  6 3/8" diameter.
Excellent to perfect condition -- can't find anything wrong with it.  A

#2349 Vienna Austria Hand Painted Plate |

    | Large and beautiful scarlet red and pink roses.  Scalloped rim trimmed
in gold.  Signed M. Waterman, possibly an American china
painter, but not certain of that.  The mark is possibly that of
    P. H. Leonard, a New York importer of porcelain, who used a very
similar mark c.1890-1908 and in business c.1890-1910.
Considering the considerable wear on the mark and the overall appearance of
the backside of the plate, it is reasonable to believe this plate is most
likely from that era.  8 1/2" diameter.  Excellent condition for
its apparent age and a beautiful display plate for any collection. |

pictured.  Some very minor hairline marks (NOT CRACKS) from normal use -- not
noticeable unless looking for them.  10 3/4" wide at handles.
Old, but exact age unknown at this writing.  A

    | The mark is that of Moritz Zdekauer of
Altrohlau, Austria, and is dated to

    1884-1909
     (Source:

    Pages 56 and 373 of Rontgen's
    and page 16 of
    Directory of  European Porcelain).  7
3/4" tall to top of handle.  Approximately 10" wide at outer tips of
spout and handle.  Beautiful florals are decals, very common for the
era.  It is NOT PERFECT.  It has one long crack down the front
side (see pictures).  In spite of the crack, it is still a beauty and
hard to resist -- notice the graceful body design and the scalloped rims,
both top and bottom.  Probably part of a wash bowl set, with the bowl
now long gone.  Fortunately, this piece was a survivor. |

    with beautiful transfer roses.  Pretty
scalloped rim with only traces of gold trim that was once on portions of the
rim.  Minor utensil marks visible when held just so in the light.
    Still a very pretty and very old serving tray.  12 1/2" x 8 1/2".

    (Source:

Pages 56 and 373 of Rontgen's and page 16 of
Directory of  European Porcelain).  Boat and plate are in a beautiful leaf-shaped
design with scalloped rims.  The rims have the usual wear of gold for
old items -- a good testament  to its age.  It also had a two
small chips, one each side of the saucer rim, which have been
    professionally repaired.   The plate is 6 1/2" x 5
	3/4".  The boat is 6 1/4" x 4 3/4".  Notice the inset handle on
	the bowl.$55 January 2007 |

    | Hand Painted figural scene and signed by what appears to be "Zatxka."   Body is in a beautiful
pearlized finish.  Neck, handles, and bottom are all trimmed in gold.
There is expected wear here and there on the gold edges, but other than that
is in excellent condition.  It measures 9 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide at
widest part of body.  The books show this Victoria Austria mark to have
been used somewhere during the years of 1883-1945. |

    | Probably alsoVictoria, although
we could not find this mark.  The beautiful figural scene appears to be
a transfer with hand painted finishing.  Although still beautiful, this
vase appears to have some very heavy wear on the gold trim.  It
probably had a lot of gold on it at one time, with only traces remaining
now.  Otherwise it is in excellent condition.  It measures 9 1/4"
