#2527 Old Paris Mantle Vases

Gorgeous pink bodies with colorful encrusted flowers on each side of the figural panels.  The courting scenes are hand painted.  Gold trim sets off the bases and rims with their rococo scrolls and swirls and curves, typical of the late 19th Century.  Back sides are decorated with flowing gold florals and foliage.  Near Perfect condition as far as we can tell.  We find nothing wrong with them other than very slight wear of gold in all the right places which serves as a testament to their age.  11" tall x 9" wide at the top x 3 3/4" deep.  Base is 6" x 4 1/2".  True Treasures from the past!!

 Fabulous vase!!  Beautiful hand painted figural courting scene on one side and roses and other florals on the other side.  Notice the elaborate rococo scrolls and designs typical of the late 19th century.  Made in two pieces -- top is attached to the base at the lower "waist."  Other than wear of the gold in all the right places, it is in perfect condition.  Approximately 14 1/4" tall x 8 1/4" wide at the outer tips of handles.$795 January 2006

Although unmarked, we believe this to be a vase from Old Paris and probably late 19th century or very early 20th.  It is beautiful.  Do notice the beautiful colors and the graceful lines.  It does have a professional repair on the tip of the lip with a tiny vertical hairline of 1 1/8" running down from it -- very hard to find.  It also has some slight wear of the gold on the ornate handles.  It is priced accordingly.  The beautiful decoration appears to be a combination of transfer patterns for the flowers with the color added by hand.   It measures 12 1/4" tall x 6" wide at widest part of the body. $85 in October 2005

From the Jose Ferreira Pinto Basto Porcelain Factory in Portugal.  It is still in production today and is known for producing high-quality luxury porcelain.  This mark was apparently in use from c.1947-69 (Source:  Directory of European Porcelain, pages 485-86).  These are most likely no older than the late 1960's.  Perfect  condition.  Beautiful colors --an economical way to have the "look" of Old Paris.  Approximately 9" tall.

Unmarked, but probably Old Paris.  This is a fabulous chocolate set and one of the prettiest we've ever seen, and it is PERFECT.  The chocolate pot measures 9 1/2" to top of lid; the creamer is 4 1/4" tall; and each cup is 3" tall.$700 in July 2000
