#2551 Dresden Candlesticks |

From the Carl Thieme Saxony Porcelain Factory of Potschappel, Saxony, Germany. According to page 108 of Dresden Porcelain Studios by the Harrans, this mark was put into use c.1961 and various forms of it continue in use today. Notice that this mark has the word Original added to it. As with many delicate items with encrusted flowers and other decoration, they are NOT PERFECT, although close to it. Notice the closeups of a small sliver on the edge of the orange flower (circled) and two small areas on the pink flower -- all repairable by a professional restorationist. We had to look closely to find these slight imperfections. They are 3 1/2" tall x 4 3/8" diameter at the base. These are gorgeous candlesticks and are compatible with the Schumann Dresden Flowers in the Chateau and Empress patterns and the first we've ever seen or found. |
